GemInHay bills per capability, with a generous monthly included allowance on each paid tier and a per-call overage rate beyond that.

Hard cap = once you exceed your monthly allowance, requests are rejected with 429 Quota Exceeded. No hard cap = excess calls are billed at the overage rate below.

Where to see your usage

The partner portal's Usage screen shows month-to-date counts, projected spend, and a per-capability breakdown that mirrors how you're billed. It auto-refreshes every 15 seconds so you can verify a deploy in real time.

Billing FAQ

When does the billing month start? UTC midnight on the first of every calendar month. Quotas reset, prior month's invoice is generated.

Can I change tiers mid-month? Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately and prorate the base fee. Downgrades take effect the next billing cycle.

Do failed requests count? No. Only successful (2xx) responses meter against your quota. 4xx and 5xx responses are free.

Are partner events billed? No. The /v1/events endpoint is free of charge — it's there to give you better analytics in the portal.
